Captain's Blog - No.9

21 Nov 2013 by Green Army

Hi Everyone & Welcome to this weeks Newsletter!!! Yes that’s right Newsletter, thats what Danny Rayfield asked if he could be in after training on Tuesday, he just wanted some attention, what with his orange gardening gloves & that.

So this weeks Blog could have been a very different story, at one point on Saturday I was thinking ‘What if Gra can no longer walk, how the hell am I gonna put that in the Blog???’

Jon helped to lighten the situation & keep spirits high, after phoning for the Ambulance, Jon asked ‘are they on their way’ I just replied ‘I don’t know Jon, you just spoke to them’!!! Gra is now making a good recovery, thanks to the immediate after care he received on the pitch from Daz, Chris & Rob, followed by the support from the Paramedics, thankfully everything has turned out ok, well done & thanks to all, get well soon Gra.

Once the match resumed BG put up a spirited display not conceding & creating a number of good chances, all this topped off with Birthday Boy Mick Slade stepping up to stroke home a penalty, but missing the target & neatly completing the cross bar challenge from the spot;)

In other news this week I had the pleasure of hearing a conversation between two of BGs finest. Jamie & Trig were speaking before the match,
‘you got a flat tyre’ said Trig,
‘yeah it keeps doing that’ said Jamie,
‘You think it’s punctured’ said Trig,
‘Yeah, might be mate’ said Jamie,
‘It did look flat all over’ said Trig.
At that point I vacated the area, I couldn’t stand the stimulating chat anymore.

Well what a week it’s been in BG, power cut, glue in the locks at the Bakers, someone trying to blow up the cash machine outside Barclays & on top of that someone robbed Shakti News! Noah told me they had nicked all the sweets, but it turned out the following day it was the cigarettes that had gone, that was lucky said Noah when he heard…& as I’m finishing the Blog I have just seen the horrific images from The Wrotham Academy, a car or van has driven over the pitch to such extent, some parts of it looked almost flat, it’s an outrage. Hopefully it will be ok or an alternative venue found as it’s our old rivals Ightham on Saturday & I’m sure none of us want to miss that.

Take Care Sweets Love Mikey
