Captain's Blog - No.13

Hi All & Happy New Year,

So we haven’t played for a month,
no blog or match report to enjoy, Christmas has been & gone, everyone is skint, fed up with the constant rain & have eaten enough food too last them till March. So it’s now 2014 a year full of promise & excitement, with a baby Knight due any day now, Mick & Susie’s Wedding in June (apparently Mick reckons they are having canapés!!) & not forgetting The World Cup to keep us entertained, well for the first week until we loose on penalties.

So is this the year we get promoted & reach another cup final….. Let’s hope so, no pressure but Daz has told me he has had a dream about me holding up a trophy, not sure what excites me more, the fact he is dreaming about me or that we might win something this year!!!!

So with all the above in mind we had our first league fixture of the year on Saturday looking at getting back to winning ways against Westerham, we even switched changing rooms in the hope we might get some good luck. We have not played at home for over a month but it was good to see that even though we have had enough rain to sink the isle of sheppey, the familiar tyre tracks on the pitch were still there, were kind of used to them now.

I’m not going too go on about the match or how they scored their first goal.(Hi Rob) or how their one supporter came onto the pitch & started to have ago at Mick, haha.
I’m sure that we would all agree the first half was pretty dire, the second half better with more desire & commitment but still a far cry from how we played against AW or Hildenborough, the only thing that rescued us a point was the majestic equaliser scored by….now who was it, oh yes Me, with literally the last kick off the game, I scored what is already being heralded as contender for goal of the season xxxx lol.

This Saturday its back to The Wrotham Academy again for another league match, this time it’s against
St Lawrence, we need to be on our game from the start boys, that includes, pre match chat, warm up,
to be ready for the whistle & up for it from the start!!! with the desire, commitment & belief that we need to enjoy our football & put ourselves back on the league map & pushing for the success we all want.

So come on boys, Saturdays another day & time for us too push on, so let’s have it, 3 points, Green Army.

Take Care Sweets Love Mikey
